Revised for clarity through simplicity:
“Then,” Jesus says, “you ‘cannot be My disciple’ ” (see Luke 14:26-33). True surrender will always go beyond natural devotion. Beware of stopping anywhere short of total surrender to God. Surrender is not an action we take it is the result of seeing “the maker of effort”.
We have a tendency to expect a result that is not total surrender. When surrender is total God is simply there. A hairs breath away that humans turn into vast distances.
That is all I’ve been saying since I started this blog. See the beauty in this! Jesus did not want followers “you cannot be my disciple” He did not want an organization!
